Bar Owner To People Offended By His Sign: Get Over It

Victor Fiorillo decided to visit the Old Philadelphia Tavern in the City of Brotherly Love when he went out for a drink at night. He wanted a beer and some fantastic business, but the window’s etched sign caused him to pause momentarily.

He stepped inside, though, and exercised his right to free speech by buying a beverage. At that moment, a man spoke up so that everyone in the pub could hear him.

The guy was making his way over to the jukebox. Nonetheless, he said that he was a former fireman and that he was Mexican before inserting the coin to play music via the speakers. Then he grinned and said, “That was only a joke at the end.”

He then paid for the music and decided to play Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” from 1984. Every patron in the bar started singing along as the song started and the chorus erupted from the speakers.

And I appreciate being an American.

where at least I am aware that I am free

And I won’t forget the men who died, either.

Who thought I was entitled to that?

And I’d gladly stand at your side.

and still guard Her today

Because there is no question

I enjoy this place.

Godspeed, America
