A group of firefighters were required to free a fat rat that became trapped in a sewer grate in the small German town of Bensheim. Given that many came together to save her and that everything turned out fine, it was both a sad and somewhat humorous sight.
Berufstierrettung Rhein Neckar, a nearby animal rescue group, rushed to the rat’s aid as soon as it became stuck and made attempts to free it from the sewer. They requested the help of a group of firefighters after making a few fruitless tries.
It was quite challenging to remove her without hurting her because the rat was lodged at her hip. The firefighters managed to ultimately get the rat free without hurting her by supporting the grate and securing a rescue loop around her.
