Meet Scott, an elderly Labrador who spent his entire life tethered to a home in Valle del Cauca, Colombia. Fortunately, the Una Amiga Foundation came to know of his plight and took immediate action to ensure he received the care and attention he so desperately needed.

Scott had endured a life of hardship since the age of 14, but all he yearns for now is to spend his golden years in a far better manner than before. His visible ribs protruded from beneath his frail frame, and he appeared worn down by the suffering he endured. Hunger had undoubtedly taken its toll.

The heartwarming rescue of this dog was shared on the organization's Facebook page, acknowledging the efforts of Juan Sebastián Vidal and others who played a pivotal role in rescuing the 14-year-old dog. Scott is now on his way to the foundation's headquarters, where he will receive all the love and care he deserves.

Upon his arrival at the veterinarian's facility, Scott underwent a thorough examination. The diagnosis revealed significant malnutrition, and he would require extensive therapy before finding a new forever home.

In a recent update, the Foundation reported, "Scott was transported to the Happy Pet Veterinary Clinic and examined by Dr. Claudia Paris. He was thoroughly assessed, and test results confirmed severe malnutrition, anemia, and hypoalbuminemia—all consequences of an inadequate diet and neglect. Currently, Scott is under the care of the Foundation, where he will remain throughout his recovery journey."

With time and the dedicated efforts of his caregivers, Scott is expected to make a full recovery. We have faith in his resilience and believe he will soon have the strength and love to share with those eager to provide him a new and improved life.
