Take A Look At The 32,000+ Year Old Plant DNA Inside The Permafrost In Siberia

Many scientific findings and explorations have been found locked away in the permafrost layers in the arctic regions. This effect of being embedded in the permafrost perfectly freezes pre-historic things which have been groundbreaking findings.

This is about a very old plant that was found concealed in the permafrost. The oldest plant that was discovered before was a 2,000-year-old plant that was regenerated by scientists. It was a Judean date palm plant. This one is way older than the 2,000-year-old plant, scroll down to check it out.

This discovery is a set of seeds that is roughly over 32,000 years. These Russian scientists have been digging through the Siberian permafrost in search of the borrows of ground squirrels where they might find stored seeds. This was an absolutely extraordinary finding since no one has ever discovered such an old set of seeds that actually regenerated.

The team started to regenerate the mature seeds from the pods of a Silene stenophylla fruit. The trails failed as the seeds gave up. This did not stop this group of scientists. They went forward with the immature seeds. Using modern cloning technology, they used the Placenta in the immature seeds and successfully regenerated 36 plants!

The modern-day descendants of this plant have a bit of difference from these ancient plants, that were regenerated. This was one of few groundbreaking findings that gives permafrost excavation much credit that it already deserves. Scientists believe that there are so much more things waiting for us, embedded in the permafrost, until we discover them.

Check out the paper on this amazing discovery and also feel free to comment down your thoughts about this.
