This Grandmother Who Pays All Her Savings For Granddaughter’s Wedding, is Uninvited at Last Moment

Agnes paid for her niece Clara’s wedding. Anyways, Clara took her off the wedding guest list at the last minute. However, things took an unexpected turn when the karma hit Clara.

Agnes was 75 when her beloved husband Edward passed away. Soon after, her health got worse and she moved to New York City to live with her son and his family. At first, they were very loving and caring. But when Agnes found out that she had dementia things started to change.

She was listening how her son Timothy and his wife Linda were arguing almost every day about whether she should be transferred to a nursing home or how much treatment would cost if her health deteriorated further. But Agnes swallowed all the pain and stayed because she adored her niece. After Edward left her, Agnes had only one desire: she wanted to see her niece get married before God decided to send her to Edward. So, she didn’t get a dime of the money she had saved for her granddaughter for years.

A generous offer

When the time came, she went to her son and wife offering them the money, a total of $ 25,000. “$ 25,000! That’s a lot of money, mom! I can’t take that much from you,” said her son Timothy. “I know that you adore Clara and want to help us, but believe me, mom, it is not necessary.”

Agnes said that was why she saved this money. There was nothing else she needed or wanted more to spend it on. Linda, of course, agreed that if Agnes wanted to give them the money for the wedding, they should take it. After Agnes and Linda pushed a little more, Timothy agreed.

An ungrateful bride

A few weeks before the wedding, Clara surprised everyone: “Just because she paid doesn’t mean we should invite her. Don’t you remember what the doctors said? Her dementia is getting worse and worse. I swear I’ll cancel everything if she showed up! I will not let my special day be ruined!” Clara said it loud enough so Agnes can hear.

Because of this distress, Agnes’ condition deteriorated even faster. Timothy was told by her doctors that if she was not properly cared for by the family, her condition would deteriorate rapidly. Clara and Linda were even more angry and asked Timothy to put Agnes in a nursing home.

The wedding day

It was an emotional day for Agnes when she was put in the nursing home. But it was even worse on Clara’s wedding day.

That’s the moment that she decided to go to the wedding and secretly watch her granddaughter walk down the aisle. She called Timothy and he agreed, just wishing he could do more for his mother.

However, when Agnes arrived at the ceremony, she heard screams coming from the bridal suite. It was Clara and her fiancé who were arguing.

“How can you do this to me?” How can you call off the wedding? Clara was screaming. Agnes covered her mouth in shock. “I can’t be with someone who doesn’t respect their grandparents. I can’t believe you didn’t invite your grandma because you are embarrassed by her illness.”. “Yes, so? What is the problem? I didn’t want her to be part my wedding.”. “Wow! Clara, sooner or later we’ll all get old. Is this how you like your grandchildren to treat you? What about my parents? They are already in their sixties. Are you going to throw them away too?”. “Don’t change the subject, Josh. I won’t call her!”. “So, the wedding is over! Bye!”

Agnes tried to comfort her. Instead Clara simply threw her out of the bridal suite. Agnes lost herself in the joyful atmosphere, forgetting her worries, and pours herself a glass of wine. “Since I spent my money on this wedding, I deserve to have fun. I would like to understand sooner that life is short to worry about anything.” The old lady reflects, taking a sip of wine.

Karma Always Wins

You cannot escape karma. Clara decided to ban her grandmother from attending the marriage, but karma caught up with her and made her learn a lesson the hard way.

Don’t get lost trying to fix things and make others happy. Agnes, has always cared about Clara’s happiness and neglected hers. We should never do that.
